New Students
I have no Yoga experience, which class is suitable for me?
Iyengar Basic Classes are suitable for absolute beginners. You can join these classes either as a General Class (using General Passes) or an Enrollment Class (registration required).
General Classes of 60-Minutes (Green Colour in our Class Schedule) are generally suitable for all levels including beginners. The instructor may give different practice variations for students with different levels of experience.
What should I wear to the class?
If you have Yoga attire, just wear that to the class. If you do not have any Yoga specific attire, you can wear any sports wear, or at least a T-shirt and a pair of comfortable pants. No shoes will be worn inside the Studio and the classrooms.
What should I bring to the class?
For health & hygiene reasons, please bring your own mat with you. You should also bring along clothes that you will be wearing during the class. If you perspire quite a bit, we suggest you bring a towel with you. Filtered water will be provided, but we encourage you to bring your own tumbler.
Can I eat before the class?
We recommend that you avoid eating for at least two hours before attending a class. If you are hungry before the class, a light snack of fruits, nuts and/or light meal would be fine.
