New Students

I have no Yoga experience, which class is suitable for me?

In principle, Regular Classes are suitable for students of all levels, including beginners. This means that if a student find a particular action or pose too challenging for him/her, the Teacher will offer an alternative for the student to practice. For absolute beginners, we recommend first joining the Foundation Class (which is enrollment based) for the first cycle of 12 weeks, in order to better understand and adapt to Regular Classes.

What should I wear to the class?

If you have Yoga attire, just wear that to the class. If you do not have any Yoga specific attire, you can wear any sports wear, or at least a T-shirt and a pair of comfortable pants. For Iyengar Yoga based classes, it is recommended that you wear a Yoga/Sports top and a pair of shorts. No shoes will be worn inside the Studio and in the classrooms.

What should I bring to the class?

Although we will no longer charge for Mat rental, however, for health & hygiene reasons, we strongly encourage you to bring your own mat with you.  Public mats are provided subject to availability.

Please bring along clothes that you will be wearing during the class. If you perspire quite a bit, we suggest that you also bring a towel with you. Filtered water will be provided, and we encourage you to bring your own tumbler.

Can I eat before the class?

We recommend that you avoid eating for at least two hours before attending a class. If you are hungry before the class, a light snack of fruits, nuts and/or light meal would be fine.
